Various machines for the final production of the printed image. There are 2 main types of printmaking presses. The most basic is the relief press in which a platen is brought vertically in contact with the bed. Lino cuts and wood cuts are normally printed in a relief press.
The other main type involves the bed moving between rollers. Etchings and lithographs presses are printed in this way. This arrangement allows for greater pressure to bear on the plate, and for much larger prints to be made. For more information see: Printmaking Supplies
