A form of Printmaking. Mezzotint Prints is a difficult but rewarding high quality intaglio printmaking process originally developed for reproduction of famous art in the 18th century, artists didn’t use it much for artistic expression until relatively recently. A mezzotint rocker has myriad of fine teeth that are rocked back and forth over the plate. This plate would print black when done properly. The light tones are then burnished into the blacks. It produces atmospheric and moody effects.
