Marbling

Marbling is an art technique that creates a unique, random surface on paper. The patterns produced are very organic in shape and look similar to marble stone, or sediment moved by the flow of water.

Marbling is a technique used to decorate primarily paper and fabrics, marbled paper is often used for book covers, certificates, decorative stationary, papercrafts and scrapbooking.

The marble effect is produced by floating colors on water or a solution of high viscosity liquid known as size, and then carefully transfering the floating colors to a sheet of paper or fabric by gentlely laying it on top of the liquid, removing and hanging to dry.
