Hotplate

A hotplate, is a tool used in Printmaking, it allows the etched copper etching plate or zinc etching plate to be heated prior to ink application. The heat assists the printmaker in applying the thick printmaker’s ink evenly as the warmth makes the ink more subtle and runny.
