Also spelt as: Gray Scale. A Grey Scale is a term used in drawing & photography to describe the gradation of shade. To illustrate a grey scale draw 10 equally sized boxes, on one side start with black, on the other side end with white. Each box should then decrease in shade until white is reached this is best done with pencils of varying hardness.
In photography a grey scale helps the artist to see the right level of desired contrast for a photographic print.
