Giclée

A Giclee Print is a term used to describe the production of fine art prints using ink-jet printing technology from a digital source. Giclee is a term that is sometimes loosely used; as printing technology differs and not all prints claimed to be Giclee prints are of the same quality, durability and lightfastness, it is important to research well before buying Giclee prints.

Giclee prints are a very popular form of art as they are a more affordable alternative to buying original art. For artists they are also a way to earn more from a single original work by selling cheaper copies and thus extend the reach of their artwork too.

Often the most popular form of Giclee print are reproduction prints on canvas. Whereby an original artwork or photo has been and carefully reproduced as a high quality print on canvas that matches the exact color values of the original using archival quality inks & pigments.
