Art made on the computer is usually referred to as digital art. Often fractal based or having a bit of a ‘modern movies’ look about it, it in fact has a broad a sweep of approaches to creative image making that crosses traditional ideas of art and incorporates everything that is revolutionary in culture and technology.
Hand drawn artwork can be inputed by either scanning or directly entered using a tablet to literally draw or paint into the chosen program. Likewise 3 dimensional sculpture can be manipulated using virtual clay. The artwork can then be endlessly manipulated and combined with all manner of audio visual material. The finished artwork can be shared via the internet with the world or outputted to a variety of devices including printers and DVD’s.
