Aquarelle

1 - The French word for watercolor, commonly found on French made papers, waterbased paints, and brushes. 2 - A type of colored pencil which can be used like ordinary colored pencils. The finished artwork can then be given delicate watercolor wash effects by washing with a wet brush. The colors tend to be weak, and there is some question over their permanence, but they are popular with designers and illustrators. A graphite lead-like version is offered by some manufacturers with similar results
